Ahhhh November. A time for giving thanks, being with family, and my personal favorite, shopping till my legs give out on Black Friday. On November 24, people wait outside malls and stores just to get the best deals and I am happy to say that I have been one of those people. Is it crazy? Yes. Is your money going down the toilet? Maybe. Can I tell you why you should attend Black Friday? Most definitely.

Well for starters who doesn’t love getting discounts off their favorite products. For you shopping addicts, Black Friday is the best day to save some cash and buy multiple products to fit your needs. On this day, sales range from discounts 50-80% off to buy 2 get 3 free. But Katrina where do I find the best deals? Stores such as Target, H&M, Pink, and Bed Bath and Body Works are some of the most popular store locations when going on the biggest sales of the year. However, be prepared for mayhem and craziness that will await you.

For most shoppers, Black Friday is a time not only for splurging, but purchasing several gifts for the holidays. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or any winter holiday, we can all agree that we have a never ending list of people that will be receiving presents. On the 24th, you can bet that you will be able to gather up loads of gifts on a reasonable price, not only reducing your stress level, but allowing you some time to think of yourself.

Black Friday may seem overwhelming and you may not know how to survive this event, but not to worry, here are some tips to get you by:

  1. Go with a friend: Who doesn’t want to have their besties at their side, teaming up to get through the day
  2. Go early: Normally selected stores start their sales the night of Thanksgiving so after dinner and spending time with your family and friends, I highly recommend afterwards that being the time for you to get going. That is if the turkey doesn’t knock you out first.
  3. Make a shopping list: Don’t go to a store without knowing what you want. Pretty self-explanatory if you ask me
  4. Strategize/come up with a game plan: I wouldn’t suggest going to the ultimate shopping spree without knowing what stores you want to go to and where everything is located. If you are with a group the best method is to divide and conquer.
  5. Don’t bring children: When bringing children, you are risking their safety and you wouldn’t want to risk losing anyone in the process. I recommend asking the kids what they want so at least it is a win win situation.
